Understand & Teach Pronunciation at the Phrase and Sentence Level
In this course, you will learn how these aspects of phrase-level pronunciation work, and how to teach them to learners.
Some features of English pronunciation operate at the level of the phrase or sentence. There are three main aspects to think about. First, linking is how speakers join words together in very specific ways, inside phrase boundaries. Second, intonation is how speakers use the tone of their voice to indicate meaning across a phrase. Third, pausing and speed work across the sentence level, and can be used to great effect to improve understanding, when used appropriately. In this course, you will learn how these aspects of pronunciation work, and how to teach them to learners.
