Course Description

In this course, we will look at different types of teacher talk, and understand the different functions they fill. You’ll have the opportunity to see some common mistakes teachers make with their own talk, and how to improve them. We’ll also look at how to use both silence and gestures as important tools in managing the classroom, alongside your teacher talk. At the end of the course, you’ll also get a practical method to use, either individually or with colleagues, to reflect on and begin to improve your own teacher talk.
