Course Description

Concept Checking Questions (CCQs) are a fantastic tool that teachers can use to analyse the language they are teaching and to make sure their students have really understood. It takes a lot of practice to make great CCQs. This course will help you distinguish between CCQs and other types of classroom questions. You’ll also learn what makes CCQs really work, and you’ll get some practice writing effective CCQs.

After completing this course, teachers will be able to…

  • Distinguish between concept checking questions and other classroom questions
  • Recognise what makes a concept question effective/ineffective
  • Write effective concept questions

Jane is an English language teacher, teacher trainer, manager and writer. Over the last thirty or so years she has worked in the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Australia and now lives and works in New Zealand.
