Course Description

In the first two courses we looked at different types of assessment and how they are used, then looked at test design: the tasks, criteria and learning from assessments. This third course in the series on assessment focuses on feedback.  It should help you to answer the following questions:

  • What is feedback?
  • What is quantitative feedback and qualitative feedback, and what are the benefits of each?
  • What kind of feedback is helpful/not helpful? What kind of feedback can be called ‘constructive’?
  • What is a marking code and how can one be used?
  • How to meet the challenges of giving feedback on speaking?
